Employment Equity
Pronto IT Solutions follows a policy of employment equality in the workplace, while recognising that additional efforts may be required to recruit, develop, promote and retain the services of previously disadvantaged individuals. We also regularly develop profiles of current HDI employees, with the view to provide fast-track development for the promotion and progression of employees.

The objective is not only to add value and create wealth through the growth of the company, but also to ensure that the company is truly empowered and that it makes a sustainable contribution to society through investment in the training and education of HDI’s.


Training and Development
As an IT service and solution company utilising various skills from various environments, our success is in the hands of our employees. Realising the important role that employees play as part of the service and support that we offer to our customers, Pronto implemented an employee program. This program enables employees to deliver a competent, efficient service to our customers and also gives them access to continuous skills training.

All employees are evaluated quarterly to assess progress to date, and future development needs. The company provides the necessary training and development to steer individuals towards their career goals.

Preferential Procurement & Supplier Development Policy



1. Introduction
This document serves as the framework for the preferential procurement and supplier development policy of Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd) and is aligned with the following legislative imperatives:
  • The B-BBEE Act, 2003 (Act 53 of 2003) as amended;
  • The Department of Trade and Industry’s B-BBEE Codes of Good Practise, as published on the 2nd of September 2007 and as amended from time to time in terms of Act 53 of 2003;
  • The Department of Trade and Industry’s Information, Communication and Technology Sector Code as published on
2. Preferential Procurement- Enterprise- and Supplier Development Policy:
It is the policy of Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd) to promote Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) by supporting Black business people, including Black women and Black people with disabilities, as well as suppliers and service providers with a BEE-status in its procurement activities.

3. Purpose of this policy:
The purposes of this policy is to:
  • validate the commitment of Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd)’s active support for the Government’s Broad- Based Black Economic strategy and programme;
  • set procurement guidelines for Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd) and to outline and support procurement decisions to ensure the implementation of the preferential procurement programme of Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd), and
  • to set guidelines for Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd) to select and develop Black enterprises and suppliers.
In pursuit of this objective, Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd) will ensure fair and equitable treatment of both its current and potential/ future suppliers unless business requirements, including price competitiveness, dictate otherwise.

4. Objectives of this policy:
The objectives of this policy are to:
  • enhance the B-BBEE status of Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd) by encouraging suppliers and enterprises to
  • become contributors to- ; and
  • enhance their current BEE procurement levels;
  • increase the rand value procurement spend on enterprises with a BEE-status; and
  • increase the number of potential suppliers and service providers/ BEE-enterprises involved in the procurement activities of Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd).
5. Definitions and acronyms:
All definitions and acronyms will have the same meaning as in the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practise and the Information, Communication and Technology Sector Code. For simplicity and relevancy to procurement the following definitions are highlighted:

Black owned supplier:
Shall mean an enterprise with more than 50% Black women ownership

Black women owned supplier:
Shall mean an enterprise with more than 30% Black women ownership

Exempted Micro Enterprise (EME):
Shall mean an enterprise with an annual turnover of less than R 5 000 000-00, which shall be deemed to have a B-BBEE status of Level 4 Contributor with a BEE procurement recognition of 100%

Information, Communication and Technology Sector Code:
The Sectoral Industry’s Information, Communication and Technology Sector Code as had been published in GG 35423 of 6 June 2012

Qualifying Small Enterprise (QSE):
Shall mean an enterprise with an annual turnover of between R 5 000 000-00 and R 35 000 000-00 and is measured in terms Code 800 of the Codes of Good Practise

Generic/ Large Enterprise:
Shall mean an enterprise with an annual turnover of more than R 35 000 000-00 which is measured on all seven elements in terms of the Codes of Good Practise

Preferential Procurement:
The sourcing of components, goods and services from South African suppliers/ service providers with a recognised BEE-status.

6. Responsibility, Measurement and Reporting:
  • The responsibility for implementing this policy will rest with the procurement manager
  • All of the employees of Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd) who engages with procurement activities and enterprise- and supplier development initiatives of Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd) will comply with this policy.
7. Strategic interventions:
  • Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd) will procure components, goods and services from South African suppliers/ service providers with a recognised BEE-status
  • Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd) will calculate its score for the Preferential Procurement-element on an annual basis in terms of Code series 500 of the ICT Charter
  • The annual measurement of the BEE-compliancy of Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd) will be based on the financial year of Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd)
  • Preference will be given to suppliers and service providers with a BEE-status and enterprises that enhance the BEE-status level of Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd)
  • To assist and support the development of EME- and QSE-suppliers, Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd) will
  • annually identify at least one EME- and/or QSE-supplier with a proven Black owned or Black woman owned status: and
  • take steps to assist the sustainability and growth of the business(es) identified for this purpose in manners that may be considered by Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd) and agreed with the selected enterprise(s), which will include the payment of the(se) supplier(s) within 10 days after receipt of invoices as opposed to the standard payment term of 30 days of Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd)
  • will enter into a written agreement Memorandum of Understanding) with the selected business(es) as proof of Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd)’s commitment towards it/ them and to describe the commitments of Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd) and the selected enterprise(s)the
  • A database indicating the BEE status level of each supplier will be established and maintained
  • Suppliers and service providers will be required to submit proof of their BEE-status on an annual basis. The required proof will consist of, in the case of
  • EME’s: A verification certificate that had been issued by an IRBA- or SANAS-accredited auditor/ verification agency or a registered accountant or auditor that was valid on any day of the financial period on which Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd) is being measured in terms of its BEE-status
  • QSE’s: A verification certificate that had been issued by an IRBA- or SANAS-accredited auditor/ verification agency and was valid on any day of the financial period which Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd) is being measured in terms of its BEE-status
  • Generic/ Large Enterprises: A verification certificate that had been issued by an IRBA- or SANAS-accredited auditor/ verification agency and was valid on any day of the financial period which Pronto IT Solutions Pty (Ltd) is being measured in terms of its BEE-status
  • Black-owned – and Black woman-owned businesses by submitting either valid verification certificates from an IRBA- accredited auditor or SANAS- accredited verification agency or CIPC-documents proving the mentioned Black ownership
